JEN DENIKE

Exacting a sense of formal continuity with gesture, light and movement motivates my work in its myriad forms. In my video and photographic work I have used performance to articulate ideas and extrapolate sociological expressions through the use of repetitive actions in simplified tableaus. Past explorations include male bonding rituals, suburban teenage angst, filmic representations of female sexuality, and iconic vernacular such as the American Flag.
