THE COMPANY

The Company was co-founded by curator Anat Ebgi and artist Annie Wharton in fall of 2008 (yes, during the collapse of the world economy). A few steps from Chung King Road, The Company is located in The Moytel, a former motel that has been converted into residences for Chinese émigrés. The Company has also transformed an adjoining garage into a project space for installations, videos, and performances.

In addition to a changing exhibition schedule, The Company employs a rhizomatic approach to the various elements of art production, distribution, and curatorial frameworks. The Company will host special events, including film and video screenings, lectures, performances, and artist projects, and will collaborate with independent curators, writers, magazines, and other galleries on programming and special events.
